Word up
Hey hey everyone. Ok it´s been a while since my last entry so I´m going to try and make this a good one. But first off, I´d like to give a few quite belated birthday shout-outs to Elizabeth Mork, Melanie Twait, and of course my sister Anna Eggebraaten. I hope your birthdays were emaculate and I hope you have a least a couple more.
Ok, now that that´s out of the way, on to stuff about me. First off I´d like to tell a little story about how I got totally busted here, and directly afterwards, grounded for two weeks. But, now that I´m thinking about it, what I did was so bad that I probably shouldn´t say.............oh but I guess I can´t leave you all hanging like that, so I´ll go ahead and say it, but please don´t think less of me for this: The other week, I went out with a couple friends and.....I came home an half hour late. Yep, thirty minutes late, and I got grounded for two weeks. I don´t know the word for lame in spanish, but if I did, I would have said it more than once while refering to this incident. Anyway, I think it was probably worth it, because I´m pretty sure the four hours I spent with my friends (one eighth of which I was totally being a rebellious teenager) was probabaly the most fun I´ve had here, so I guess things are all right.
Ok, now moving on to other things. This week, as well as the next are being devoted to sports at my school here. It´s pretty great because I only have class about half the day, and the other half is spent either watching or playing stuff. This week I played soccar and successfully scored a goal for the wrong team (that wasn´t so great) and I also ripped a big chunk off of my toenail (and that really wasn´t that great). I´m ok though, but I also got a sunburn that was pretty bad on my arms, which I guess still hurts a little, but what ev´! Anyway, next week is devoted to basketball, oh and by the way, I am a total B-Ball beast here. I guess it´s because first of all, I´m taller than everyone, and second of all, I´m the only one who actually knows how to play. It´s really weird though, because I never played for a team, and in the US I think I pretty much suck. But the other day it was me against three other people and I totally won. I don´t know, I don´t even like basketball, but playing and always winning is actually pretty fun.
But moving on....I went to a cement factory yesterday. That was pretty interesting...oh wait, no it wasn´t, because it was about cement.
Now This is old news for me, but if any of you avid readers can remember me saying that I would be watching a lot of movies here, well that didn´t work out. It turns out that for some reason, I can´t play the dvd´s on my computer. I think it must be because it´s a mac, because other people can play them on thier pc´s. But anyway, I think I´ll just buy a ton right before I come back home and enjoy all of the one dollar movies there.
Well, I guess I more or less have another hoast brother now. I guess he´s actually a hoast cousin, but anyway, he´s living with my family. I can totally say that I am down with it though because he´s a lot more lively than my real hoast brother and he has more music too, which is a very good thing. Cesar, my hoast brother was driving me crazy for quite some time because he played the same damn cd easily over twenty times in less than a week. And it´s not like it´s a good cd that if you listen to over and over it eventually loses it´s appeal. No, this cd is absolutly horrible, through and through and right from the beginning. I was actually contemplating hiding this cd because it was so painful to hear, but now that his cousin is living with us, I don´t hear it quite so much, which is a very, very, good thing.
Now that I am talking about music, I would like you all to know that I have found undoubtebly the worst genre of music in existance. It is called regitón, and it is absolute crap. The worst band I have ever seen and heard is Modern Day Zero, and I would gladly listen to that garbage over anything regitón. All it is, is spanish rap, which automatically makes it horrible. But they add one thing that makes it worse than 50 Cent, Nelly, and all those other idiots, and that is the exact same beat to every song. And I am not exagerating, the exact same beat is in every song by every ¨artist¨. But it isn´t finished there, also everysong is in the exacts same key (I forgot to say that the people sort of half sing all the time). You may not believe that I´m telling the whole truth, I wish I wasn´t because than it wouldn´t be so painful for me to hear, but I am being totally honest.
Anyway, you can probably tell that I really don´t care for regitón, but believe me when I say it is baaaaaaaaad. But now I think it´s time to wrap this blog up, but first I´m going to throw in a few random thoughts: First off, I´d like to say that the type of mouse (for a computer) that has the ¨go back¨ and ¨go forward¨ buttons on it is totally awesome. Also, I think that people shouldn´t put the colored tape that marching bands use to wrap their sticks and mallets in on cars to make them look cool, because it doesn´t. Finally I´d like to say that the Granny Smith apple was a pretty good invention.
Ok that´s it. I hope you all have a nice week, and if you could, eat a little extra for Thanksgiving in rememberance of me. But yeah, ok, I´m done, peace out!
Truly all of yours,
Noah Eggebraaten
